Frog (tabby) and Newt (black and white)

In June 2018 we were asked to take in two 9 week old brothers who were both born with no back legs.

The little 2-legged wonders have incredibly strong front legs that can support their entire body and lift it up off the floor with ease.

"Both kittens were born without their back legs but cope amazingly well. They are able to walk on their front legs and use their tails for balance. They can climb and even jump down. There are no mobility issues,"

Frog and Newt are now permanent residents at the Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary

The two brothers are extremely close and are completely inseparable. "They are both amazing and such a joy. They are so happy and playful,"

"Frog is a diva and vocal, and Newty is inquisitive and quiet but has the funniest face. They are both purr machines,"

Despite their lack of rear legs, both cats are perfectly able to walk around without any pain. However, both frog and Newt are on daily medication for bowel issues that are a side effect of not having back legs.

David (The Two legged Cat)

David came into the rescue in 2019. He was born with deformed and shortened back legs that were painful for him to walk on. Shortly after admission the decision was made to remove his back ‘stumps’.

His best friend is Roo, who was also born with shortened back legs.

The ‘Ferals’ (Piper and Wilson)

Piper and Wilson are brother and Sister who came to the rescue at 12 weeks old in June 2020.

We decided to release them on site here at rescue me and after a little while they started to gain our trust on their terms.

In September 2020, Wilson was tragically hit by a car outside of the rescue me site and unfortunately lost one of his back legs.

Ellen

Ellen came to Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary in 2015 when she was just 6 weeks old.

Ellen came to us completely blind. We aren’t sure whether she was born with no eyes or if she was injured.

Ellen settled so well at the rescue and loves the company of the other disabled cats
