Budgies

When looking at housing and diet for pets, its always best to look at their natural habitat.

Budgies are a type of parakeet that are native to Australia. They are extremely social animals who normally live in flocks up to 100 budgies. They live in grassland areas were their diet consists of mostly seeds and wild grasses. In the wild budgies will travel long distances in their flocks and produce huge murmurations of up to tens of thousands of budgies.

  • This is why we strongly encourage that budgies should never be kept alone. Single budgies become very lonely, bored and can even become depressed.

  • You should always try to supply the budgies with as much space as possible. We will only ever re-home our budgie to avaries as small indoor cages are not suitable.
